It Starts With Belief

Too many young people grow up believing they are not enough — not smart enough, not confident enough, not ready.

Over time, those quiet doubts begin to shape decisions. They hesitate to lead. They question their voice. They underestimate their potential.

Angel Faces Learning Academy was created to change that belief.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children, teenagers, and young adults eliminate self-doubt and realize their full potential. Our work goes beyond traditional academics. We focus on developing the whole individual — nurturing personal growth, strengthening leadership and communication skills, building emotional intelligence, and encouraging community involvement.

Through mentorship and structured guidance, we equip young people with the confidence and practical life skills necessary to thrive in business, leadership, and service.

At AFLA, we believe success begins with mindset. When young individuals are supported, seen, and guided, they don’t just succeed — they uplift entire communities.

Meet the Founder

A Vision Rooted in Purpose and Passion

Angel Faces Learning Academy was founded in 2020 by LaVonda McIntosh, driven by a deep passion for youth development and a genuine love for children. Her vision for AFLA grew from a belief that young people deserve guidance, mentorship, and positive influences that help them recognize their value and potential.

Growing up without strong role models, LaVonda relied on her dreams, imagination, and determination to navigate life’s challenges. Those experiences shaped her mission — to ensure that today’s youth are surrounded by adults who genuinely care about their future and are willing to invest in their growth and success.

As a mother of four — two biological children and two adopted — her commitment to young people extends far beyond professional work. She understands firsthand the importance of structure, encouragement, and consistent support during the most formative years of life.

Through Angel Faces Learning Academy, LaVonda seeks to bridge the gap between generations by guiding youth toward humble beginnings, strong values, and purposeful leadership while preparing them to navigate the opportunities and challenges of today’s world.

Under her leadership, AFLA is dedicated to empowering children, teenagers, and young adults with confidence, character, essential life skills, and the belief that they are capable of becoming the best versions of themselves.

The Future Starts With Belief

Every young person deserves the opportunity to grow with confidence, discover their strengths, and pursue their purpose. At Angel Faces Learning Academy, we are committed to making that belief a reality — one life, one leader, one community at a time.
